Mushroom Houses Of Charlevoix 12

Charlevoix, Michigan

Boulder Manor is Young’s fourth house with construction beginning in 1928. Young lost possession during the Great Depression and the house remained unfinished for over ten years. Constructed with massive multi-colored boulders, Boulder Manor sits up just high enough to give spectacular views of Lake Michigan. The playhouse, complete with a working fireplace, is a scaled down version of the main house. Young built it for his three daughters and their friends to play in while he worked on the main house.
